  St Ives Guildhall.
Every Thursday.
  Latest News
The market now has a cafe serving delicious snacks and drinks. Also - buskers to entertain you.

Any business that grows, bakes, rears, catches, smokes, brews or cures local food is eligible to take part in the markets.

By local we mean that the business must be based within 30 miles of St Ives (that means almost as far as St Austell and Padstow). Some ingredients can be ‘imported’ from further afield, in which case they must have been substantially altered by the trader.

While the market is primarily geared towards food, other goods may be sold if they are linked directly to the land – for example, cut flowers or plants.

Below is a list of some of our regular stallholders - although its not exhaustive as stalls vary week to week and according to season. You can see what a fantastic variety of Cornish produce we have on sale.

The Bosparva Bakery

Created in 2013 The Bosparva Bakery strive to create original artisan bread using only the best organic flours.

Every week you can find Jordan at the market with new and interesting loaves like Spitfire Ale Sourdough or Earl Grey Tea and Apricot Bread.

She also brings along a range of more traditional loaves such as her ultra-seeded granary and simple soft French batons.

Paul's Vegetables and Herbs

Paul’s vegetables and herbs at St Ives Farmers’ market every week offers very fresh vegetables and herbs, and now and then during the summer my own grown cut and potted flowers. All the vegetables and herbs are either grown by myself or other growers, but more importantly, they are all grown within a 10 mile radius of St Ives and are usually harvested no more than 24 hours prior to market day. This means the produce is very fresh and has not burnt a lot of carbon by coming hundreds of miles. In addition, all my own vegetables are grown with natural and organic fertilisers and feeds, as are some of the other growers’ produce. If all that wasn’t enough, the atmosphere and community spirit in the market is second to none every week! See you there!

Chypraze Farm

Ian and Mervyn took over their grandmother’s farm, Chypraze, in 2009 realising that its former business as a small dairy farm was no longer viable.

A new approach had to be developed. Ian’s lifelong activity in the Green movement led him to believe that there might be a role to play in meeting the concerns of people worried about the quality of their food, where it came from, how far it has had to travel, how animals were treated, whether it is dosed with chemicals, whether the land is dosed with chemicals and whether factory farming is in fact destroying the environment.

Currently 15 acres are dedicated to 100 pigs so they have loads of room to munch and play for the time they are with us, and they have the best views in the county! They get all the minerals and vitamins they need from devouring turf and we find this keeps them in tip top condition.

The other string to our bow is our small herd (fold) of Highland cows. With these we are working with Natural England to improve the diversity of the environment on our cliff fields. This native rare breed is ideal for the rather rough and steep terrain.

To complete the picture we have installed our own butchery at the farm and learned to process and pack the meat ready to bring to our local markets.

We can’t compete with supermarkets but at markets like St Ives Farmer’s Market we hope to find people who want to know what their food is and where it comes from.

Cathy's Homity Pies and Brioche

I have lived in St Ives for 34 years! I live in the centre and love it! I started the Farmers Market last November, making Homity pies after remembering them from when I first moved to Cornwall. I think I now have the recipe to most people's liking.

A friend gave me the idea for the marmite and cheese brioche, then I just added my own ideas and flavours.

I do source my ingredients locally ( from the market if I can!) and local shops . I bake from home and then I am ready for the market on Thursday !

ME Cupcake Creations

My name is Chloe and I am the owner of my very first business. I have been trading since August 1st 2014. You will also be able to find me at local events such as the food fairs and more.

I have always had a love for baking and creating exciting new flavours and pretty cakes!

All my ingredients are sourced locally. Partly because it's all on my doorstep so I know the quality that I am getting is guaranteed, secondly because if you keep things local then the community thrives.

What I provide is birthday cakes, wedding cake and lots of other lovely treats which can be ordered. But what I love the most is being creative and coming up with lots of new and exciting flavours and ideas for you to enjoy without all the mess and hassle! I have over 40 fun, lovely flavours that I bake, some the same each week here at the market but always trying to bring a few new along.

Flavours vary throughout the year keeping with the season so you don’t get board of treating yourself to the same thing every week! I have different sources for the different needs throughout the year as all my flavouring changes depending on the season. You know that you will be getting something that has NO artificial additives and enhances to the best of my ability as a result.

Spirits of Cornwall

A failed batch of marmalade and a bottle of Gin led to launching the company at the end of August 2014. As a small artisan producer of handcrafted alcoholic infusions, all liqueurs are produced in small bathes, individually bottled, labelled and numbered. No artificial colours, additives or preservatives are used- real fruit, spices and botanicals quietly infuse in a spirit base capturing the flavours. A little syrup and time allows the richness and depth of flavour to develop.

Cocktails and Celebrations- Wedding Favours- Presents and Parties- Drink on their own, over ice or topped up with sparkling wine. Drizzle over ice cream or cake. Some flavours add a real zing to gravies. Check the flavours and events where you can find us at ...

Cornish Cuisine - The Cornish Smokehouse

Situated in a beautiful part of the country, our small family run Smokehouse sits near the pretty River Fal. Last year we moved into a bigger, shiner Smokehouse, not too far away from or old home.

We really have pride in the food we produce, ensuring everything is made in the time honoured way... No additives.... just time, tlc and wood smoke for a really traditional flavour.

We have a fantastic shop at Grampound and regular stalls at four Farmers Markets locally, where whatever the weather you'll always find us with our Smoked Foods and Cornish Cheeses.

Roseveor Plants - Rebecca Astrinsky

I was born and live in St Ives. I grow my plants in Nancledra, a couple of miles away, where I was brought up and where my mother still lives. As its quite remote I sell my plants in and around St Ives.

Although I don't have any formal training, I come from a family of gardeners. I'm very lucky, I enjoy my work! My plants are grown as naturally as possible and include succulents, aeoniums, herbs, basket & patio plants, hardy perennials and shrubs.

I aim for great quality at affordable prices.

Quayside Fish
Quayside Fish is a real fishmongers selling fresh local fish, seafood, and other locally produced goods direct to the public, from our shop and through our fresh fish mail order service. Situated in Porthleven – a small historic, Cornish fishing village, Quayside Fish has grown into a nationally recognised artisan business. With its outstanding mail order service, it has an unequalled reputation.

Weather permitting, fish and shellfish caught in the clear waters of the Atlantic Ocean are landed to us from small inshore boats from Porthleven and Coverack, owned and managed by local families who are respectful of the sea and the conservation of stocks. We also top up our counter with the highest standard of fish from one of the local auctions, inshore boat caught of course, and line caught where possible.

Kyfyth Kernow

Kyfyth Kernow means Cornish Preserves. Many of you who come to St Ives Farmers’ market will know me as the jam lady who is fanatical about fruit, jam, and good quality local produce.

At the moment I have 5 varieties of marmalade, lots of strawberry jam, lemon curd (made with Cornish butter), and several chutneys.

Some real favourites with my customers are runner bean chutney, Kea plum jam, lemon curd and traditional Seville orange marmalade.

I also make 3 varieties of mustard , using herbs from the garden, which are proving to be quite popular.

St Ives Cider
St Ives Cider is a family business owned by
David and Kate Berwick.

David combines his experience as a winemaker with traditional cider techniques to produce a range of hand-crafted artisan ciders.

Al the ciders obviously contain apple, also a touch of sulphur (150 parts per million - not a lot!) and yeast.

The Smeatons and Bamaluz are so finely filtered they have been drunk by people who have yeast intolerances but I can't guarantee it.
